A potential purchaser of the subject site engaged CadCon Surveying and Town Planning Sunshine Coast to undertake site analysis and planning investigation into the prospects of a multiple unit development that was prima facie contrary to the planning scheme intent for that locality. CadCon’s investigations and preliminary negotiation with Council showed the development was in fact consistent with the broader intent of the planning scheme and technical considerations could be provided to enable a successful development. Tasks included extensive investigation and research into previous activity on the site and specific issues affecting the site including landslip issues, proximity to a State Controlled Road, access considerations, stormwater discharge, amenity for neighbouring residences. Subsequent to CadCon Surveying and Town Planning’s investigations, report and liaison with Council the owner decided not to proceed with the sale to the client and to undertake the development application themselves. They engaged a planner they had a long-standing relationship with though continued to use CadCon Surveying and Town Planning for site surveying.
